Letterbox – Part one

She was relieved as the project finally entered the UAT(User Acceptance Testing) phase after loads of testing and modifications in SIT(System Integration Testing). Bhavya was a part of a big and complex project which was scheduled to be going live in a weeks time. Somehow the SIT testing took longer than planned and the performance testing of a major module was still pending. Only one week left for the Production rollout! Anything could happen during that time. There was consistent pressure since the last few months. It was certain that the final week and weekend was going to be more difficult. Issues cropping up during this time have to be resolved asap. Every member in the team were anxious but prepared.

Its definitely going to be a tough week!’ Bhavya sighed.

Bhavya was coordinating a team from offshore and besides that she was directly involved in a project delivery with the clients where the offshore team wasn’t involved. The pressure was high. She hardly found time to brush her teeth, cook or even eat anything properly since the last few months. She felt tired and exhausted.

On one such evening while Bhavya rushed to the station to catch her train back home, being indecisive if she should pickup a takeaway or if she can have salad at home. Because she also had to attend a couple of meetings as soon as she reaches home. She was drowned in her thoughts and gazed at the board which showed that her train is arriving in a minute. All of a sudden, she heard a message notification on WhatsApp. It was a message from Aditi, a PhD student and her next door neighbour with whom she hardly interacted. Bhavya shifted to the new locality only a couple of months back. Thus, never really got any chance to connect with Aditi. They just briefly introduced each other the day she shifted. Also, exchanged their mobile numbers in case of any emergency and that’s it.

Hi Bhavya, …

Letterbox (to be contd…)

    1. That’s what I would say as a real story telling like a pro.

The title, the apt start to the story and the scintillating way it progresses, makes one wanting for more.
Pls do upload periodically. Eagerly waiting to see how bhavya’s life unfolds. Nothing better than reading a short story each day before hitting the bed.

U girl, have come a long way in writing. Kudos!
